Do you want to learn more Mandarin?

"You do? I wished I knew Japanese and Korean more though. Vietnamese to me (no trying to diss on the language or anything) sounds harsh and loud. It's rarely soft-spoken and Korean/Japanese is very gentle. If I had a g/f that knew how to speak both I'd rather she speak Korean/Japanese than Vietnamese, because (even though I won't know what she's saying) it'll sound soft and nice.
I can speak Chinese (madarin), very little Japanese, and Korean. biggrin.gif
I'm multi-lingual (a little bit of each really happy.gif)"
Yeah. I've never met anyone who wanted to learn Vietnamese; it's usually Japanese or Korean, and that includes me. I love Japanese and Korean culture, especially their music, so this summer I plan to teach myself Korean. Japanese I can take in college.
How much Mandarin do you know, and how'd you learn? I speak Cantonese, but I understand a little Mandarin.
Korean, I know words/phrases commonly used in songs/real life: "Saranghae," "yongwonhi," "haengbok," "kamsamnida," "annyeonghaseyo." Plus "nuna"/"dongseng"/etc. :(
